Each gives the cohort three faculty-hosted days — classroom, field site and enterprise visit — and concludes with an official certificate from the department. A student earns three: from Fudan, Tongji and Shanghai Jiao Tong. No tour buses outside a gate.

Three days at Shanghai Jiao Tong, across three poles — Pudong, Minhang and Xuhui: an AI seminar and robotics workshop with a visit to Pudong's Zhangjiang AI Island; a day at the State Key Laboratory's marine engineering test centre — the deep-water and towing basins (naval architecture and ocean engineering, China's number one); and a game-design seminar with visits to miHoYo's headquarters, MoSpace, SenseTime and Tencent. Students pair 1:1 with a host researcher and lunch with graduate researchers. The chapter closes with an official SJTU certificate.
